WHY IT MATTERS

Plastic pollution and marine debris continue to wash up on our shores, negatively impacting the beauty and health of our coastlines, here in Hawai'i and throughout the world.

It’s a daunting problem—one that leaves many feeling overwhelmed, wondering how they can make a difference. That’s where our DIY Cleanup Program steps in. Designed to remove the guesswork and lower the barriers, this program empowers everyday people with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration to take action. Whether you're strolling the beach at sunrise, gathering friends for a weekend mission, or just feeling called to mālama ʻāina in the moment, the DIY Program makes it simple, accessible, and even fun.

By putting impact directly into the hands of our community, we're not only extending our reach—we're growing a network of coastal stewards ready to protect what they love, anytime, anywhere.
