Core Volunteers are a dedicated group of community members who help make Sustainable Coastlines Hawaiʻi (SCH) events and programs possible. From supporting large-scale cleanups and community events to assisting with outreach and special projects, Core Volunteers play an important role in helping SCH create meaningful impact across Hawaiʻi. To date, SCH has removed over 750,000 pounds of debris from Hawaiʻi’s coastlines with the help of over 50,000 volunteers! Talk about making an impact!
In addition to supporting our work, Core Volunteers become part of a community of people who are passionate about environmental stewardship, service, and positive change. Whether you're looking to gain experience, meet like-minded people, develop new skills, or simply become more involved with SCH, the Core Volunteer Program offers opportunities to contribute in a meaningful way.
As a Core Volunteer, you may have opportunities to:
Gain hands-on experience supporting environmental events and programs
Build leadership, communication, and community engagement skills
Connect with other passionate volunteers and SCH staff
Participate in volunteer trainings, outreach activities, and special projects
Grow your network through quarterly personal and professional development workshops featuring local leaders, professionals, and subject matter experts
Receive exclusive volunteer appreciation gifts, event perks, and recognition opportunities and earn community service hours and request letters of reccomendation when appropriate
