Our Story

Sustainable Coastlines Hawai‘i

A grassroots, local nonprofit organization run by a small team of dedicated staff and supported by passionate volunteers, just like you! We inspire communities to care for coastlines. Our vision is a world of inspired people, clean beaches, and healthy coastlines. You know us because of our fun, large-scale, hands-on beach cleanups, but our work extends beyond the beach. We also coordinate educational programs, team building corporate cleanups, resource recovery services, public awareness campaigns, and we help others organize their own beach cleanups.

We believe this work needs to include everyone, from all communities, from the islands of Hawai‘i, across Island Earth. We advocate for equality, justice, and equity in all our our programs because we know that this is the only pathway towards a world built in reciprocity. All of our events, hiring campaigns, and volunteer efforts are open to all.
