Since 1972, the United Nations Envrionment Programme (UNEP) serves as the global authroity that sets the envrionmental agenda, promotes sustainability within the UN system, and advocates for the global envrionment. The UNEP works towards transformational change for people and nature by focusing on climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste.
